Uranus in Pisces
You can look at the polls until you are blue in the face, (or red as it might be), but if you are looking for something a little more substantial than tens of millions of dollars asking hundreds of thousands of respondents who they will vote for, consider something a little more substantial... like two giant planets.
"November 4th marks a new beginning with the first of five oppositions between Saturn, the planet of authority and experience, and Uranus, the maverick planet of change. From the personal to the collective, we all are faced with the need to build upon experience in some areas of life, while being flexible and open to changes in other areas.
The opposition between these two planets represents one of the most important themes we will experience over the next year-and a-half. The dates for these oppositions are: November 4, 2008, February 5, 2009, September 15, 2009, April 26, 2010 and July 26, 2010."
Saturn is the planet that rules over the status quo, governmental and societal structures that hold chaos at bay, the limitations that we place on our world. Uranus is the planet that invites the chaos in to create radical changes in our world. It seeks new ways of thinking and innovative discoveries - it presides over inventions and new technologies.
In case you don't think in mythic terms, Republicans are Saturnine--supporting the status quo--and the Democrats are more Uranian.
And then there is this, thanks to Molly the Astrologer:
Saturn opposite Uranus happens every 40 years or so. It is a culmination of a cycle that begins when Saturn conjoins Uranus. The last time we saw Saturn opposite Uranus was in the mid 1960s.
Saturn and Uranus are mortal enemies in mythology. They aren’t great together in astrology either. Their meeting signals tension and irritability, technology problems, and folks who are offbeat or out of step. Issues and problems that have been festering beneath the surface for a while are emerging in a way that probably shouldn’t surprise us, but it does.
The rules of the game are changing, folks.
Uranus energy brings change through instability. There are often sudden and unexpected events that shake our foundations and force us to look at things in a new way. This is the blessing of it. When old structures and connections are broken, we have the opportunity to update with something new and better."
On the world stage this translates into a big change in presidential politics, continued volatility in the markets, and an economy that will teeter on the brink— and this is just the beginning!
It marks the beginning of a process, a rite of passage for our country that will have several intermediate events and steps along the way.
It is the beginning of something better for America.
On the negative side, this opposition is happening in Virgo and Pisces and that can bring about fear. Fear can get you all tied up in knots so that you aren’t thinking straight. Then you make bad decisions, which have bad consequences, which makes you more fearful.
When we are frightened we may tend to cling to that which is familiar (Saturn) rather than embrace something that is unknown (Uranus).
Remind yourself that the fear itself is, in all likelihood, a bigger problem than the object of your fear.
Take care of the fear first.
Remember to breathe deeply,
Remember to eat well,
Take care of your body
and your mind,
and let your Spirit Shine.
Oh, and in case you want to know which planet wins?
Saturn is in Virgo.
Uranus is in Pisces.
