War of the Worlds

These new pictures from the Europeans are truly remarkable.

Yes, that is ice.

Next thing you know,

Somebody is going to tell us that they have found life.

As of last week, two NASA scientist think they have.

At least they have found the signature of life.

This is not the bacteria story that broke last summer.

This is something a little more exciting.

The Europeans want to send a mission to the Red Planet.

There was also this tidbit.

The findings on Mars, one year after a European launch started an orbit around the planet, also serve as a stark warning to earthlings – Mars has no protective ozone layer and the surface is blasted by solar storms and ultraviolet light.

Water vapour destroyed ozone on Mars and a recent increase of water vapour in Earth's stratosphere could be a potential threat to this planet's protective ozone layer that is probably linked to global warming, said scientist Jean-Loup Bertaux.

Everett Gibson, from NASA's Johnson Space Center, said he had held a poll among the 250 scientists at the conference.

On the question whether they thought there had been life on Mars, 75 per cent replied in the affirmative. Asked whether they believed there to be life now, 25 per cent said "yes."

I guess the next question is,

Is it Intelligent?

The Martians are probably wondering the same thing about

the Earthians.

I went back and looked at these pictures over and over. I keep thinking I will see a dune like city under one of those huge overhangs.

The changing methane signature is what has everyone talking.
